Approvals Academy Series

This three-part virtual training series will be hosted by ONEIA in collaboration with the Ministry of the Environment, Conservation and Parks (MECP). Each session will cover a different topic. The MECP approvals team will lead the sessions, share their perspective and answer questions from attendees.

SESSION #1: Environmental Permissions 101

September 20 | 11:00am - 1:00pm 

This session will provide participants with an introduction to the Environmental Compliance Approvals (ECA) program legal framework, types of permissions, Environmental Bill of Rights, and offer insight on preparing high-quality ECA applications.  

SESSION #2: Advanced Environmental Permissions (Environmental Compliance Approvals + Permit To Take Water) Part I

October 4 | 12:00 - 1:30pm

Learn more on multi-media ECA submissions and operational flexibility. Learn more about common mistakes and errors in ECA and PTTW applications.

SESSION #3: Advanced Environmental Permissions Part II

October 18 | 12:00 - 1:30pm

This session will include an opportunity for deeper dialogue with the MECP Client Services and Permissions Branch on ongoing industry concerns and address questions from earlier sessions. MECP will provide an overview of upcoming changes including an update on modernization progress.
