ONTARIO ENVIRONMENT
INDUSTRY ASSOCIATION
PURPOSE OF THE WOMEN IN THE ENVIRONMENT AND CLEANTECH EVENT
An increasing body of research shows that having women in businesses at executive levels improves financial outcomes for those companies. The results from a number of studies are clear: Companies with more than 30% women executives were more likely to outperform companies with fewer women involved.
Unfortunately, only 28% of those who work across all levels in the environment and cleantech sector are women - a number that has remained unchanged since 2009. The proportion of those who are executives, entrepreneurs and founders is far lower. This event will allow all attendees to learn from the experience of successful women leaders in the Ontario environment and cleantech industry and provide networking opportunities to connect with emerging leaders across the sector.
This half-day virtual event, open to all genders, will begin a conversation about how environment and cleantech sectors can tap the hidden potential of a more diverse workforce.
