Environment and cleantech companies rock Guelph curling bonspiel

On March 24, teams from more than a dozen companies came out to the Guelph edition of ONEIA’s popular “Break the Ice on the Ice” business and networking curling bonspiel.  The Guelph Curling Club played host to more than 50 curlers who enjoyed an afternoon “learn to curl” clinic, followed by a three-game, six-end bonspiel.  While fun was more on the agenda than naked competition, a team from Guelph-based RWDI took the championship, followed closely by a team from IP-expert law firm Bereskin and Parr.  The “most honest team” award went to a group from Mississauga-based Maxxam Analytics. 

Curlers had a chance to play and chat with Mike Schreiner, leader of the Ontario Green Party, who praised the work of Ontario companies in the sector at the subsequent reception, saying that they are “well positioned” as Ontario transitions to a greener, more sustainable economy
