ONEIA elects new board chair
The Ontario Environment Industry Association (ONEIA) elected Derek S. Webb, vice-president of Guelph-based Biorem Technologies, as its Chair at a recent board meeting.
“It’s an exciting time to be in Ontario’s environment industry,” said Webb. “As the world emerges from the recession, it will need the products and services that Ontario environment and cleantech companies – ONEIA’s members – can provide.”
Webb succeeded Robert J. Redhead, Executive Director of Newalta, who had served as ONEIA chair for the previous two years. In that time, the Association’s membership continued to grow and it released two landmark public policy reports on the future of Ontario;s environment and cleantech sector – Ready to Grow (2009) and Still Ready to Grow (2011).
“Bob has left us with an excellent base upon which to grow the organization. I’m sure I will call on him frequently as past chair as we move forward,” Webb said.
