Business Opportunities in the European Union 2011

Thursday, November 3, 2011

Westin Prince Hotel, Crown Room, 900 York Mills Road, Toronto

The European Union (E.U.) is Ontario’s second largest trade partner and a key market for Ontario’s technology products and services. With a total population of over half a billion and a GDP of over $17 trillion, the European Union is the world’s largest single common market. In 2010 Ontario exports to the E.U. increased to over $16 billion. The Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement currently being negotiated between Canada and the E.U. will serve to enhance trade and investment flows between Canada and the E.U., and improve market access for Canadian companies.

European specialists in IP protection, public and private procurement, and supply chain management will be in the GTA for one day only to provide you with practical guidance on strategies to:
-             identify and access public and private procurement opportunities in the E.U.:
-             protect your patents, copyright and other industrial and intellectual property rights
-             ensure return on your R&D investments
-             use the electronic procurement tools of large multinational corporations
-             identify key business partners
-             determine the most competitive locations in Europe to set up a hub for operations
-             identify sources of funding for intermodal sustainable transport.

Senior executives, business development managers of Ontario manufacturing and technology companies.

Registration is limited to 25 people per workshop. Priority will be given to Ontario manufacturers, companies with proprietary technology, and/or companies that develop value-added technical solutions.
